Oink-a-Saurus Oink-a-Saurus is a fun filled learning tool that can get kids interested in the stock-market. This application was funded by the New York Stock Exchange to promote early education concerning money. First it has the child pick what interests them the most based on things they like to buy, things they like to do, and which brands they prefer. It then uses the information based on their answers to create a pretend “porkfolio” of stocks. Once a porkfolio is created they can then start experimenting with options of stock purchases and other “what-if” risks. Oink-a-Saurus not only develops this porkfolio for kids, it also offers them valuable information pertaining to money and business. Children also have the option of setting saving goals which they can track on Oink-a-Saurus.

Papa John’s iPhone App Papa John’s required an iPhone application with less than one day’s turnaround time to give them an immediate presence on the iTunes store. Jim McDonnell, marketing manager, emerging channels for Papa John’s International, had just made a blunder saying that their iPhone application had not yet delivered for them. The main problem was that, at that time, Papa John’s didn’t have an iPhone application; they simply had a mobile website. Apax Mobile was able to deliver in a hurry. The application developed for Papa John’s operates as an entrance point to Papa John’s mobile website (http://mobile.papajohns.com). Due to the timeline, the app was very simple, but it allowed Papa John’s to respond positively to some of the negative press that they were receiving from the mobile industry. |
