Software Account Manager

Position

The Software Account Manager is responsible for the business development and account management activities at APAX Software. This includes sales strategy, relationship building, lead generation, facilitating meetings and communication, customer management, and maintaining strong customer satisfaction. This position reports to the President of APAX Software and is expected to be able to work in close collaboration.

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate new sales leads and opportunities. Identify and close opportunities with new and existing customers

  • Learn the existing strengths of the software team and strategize future business opportunities to accelerate the growth of the company

  • Meet directly with leads to understand detailed requirements and determine which leads align with our services

  • Understand and document customer business requirements in order to meet customer objectives

  • Develop a sales / business development strategy to focus marketing outreach and new customer acquisition. Direct implementation of the strategy to meet core objectives

  • Interface with customer senior management to direct sales. Ensure customer expectations are met. Mitigate risks and de-escalate conflicts

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers, focusing on c-level executives and upper management

  • Generate referrals and endorsements from existing client base and establish new business relationships from referred contacts

  • Attend networking events in the region and create greater overall awareness of our service offerings

  • Perform final review of all software to verify adherence to customer goals and quality assurance

  • Document all activities within the CRM and provide accurate forecasting of future revenue

 

Desired Skills

  • 3-5 years of account management experience in the software industry

  • 3-5 years of business development experience selling large dollar technology solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers and build client relationships

  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by ability to lead client and internal team through the initial discovery / qualification process

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous management and leadership experience

  • Ability to work on site in Lexington, KY 5 days a week
