Edgio
Overview
Edgio (NASDAQ: EGIO, formerly Limelight Networks), an industry-leading content delivery and video platform provider, was in search of a strategic partner to help develop a content management system (CMS) tailored to the needs of their customers. Their platform served a range of high-profile clients, including Netflix, Disney, Amazon, and Nintendo, who faced challenges in producing and managing content that met their specific requirements. The existing content management interface posed a number of issues that hindered Edgio's potential for growth and success. It was limited by language, as it was only available in English and couldn't be easily expanded to accommodate others. Secondly, the interface employed outdated technology, which made it difficult to support and maintain. The user experience was not intuitive, as it failed to match content managers' expectations regarding content upload, modification, organization, and distribution. Moreover, users found it challenging to search for and discover content within the system. Lastly, the CMS was difficult to integrate with Edgio's other services, causing organizational challenges for the various departments responsible for supporting the system.

The revamped interface provided a seamless experience that facilitated content management for Edgio's users. We helped Edgio identify all translation and localization requirements for the project. Our architecture and deployment environment enabled them to manage translations effectively and roll out the CMS to all supported regions worldwide. Acting as a consultant, APAX liaised between Edgio's teams to establish a backend architecture that allowed the CMS to leverage their other services efficiently. This collaboration ensured a more unified and streamlined approach to content management across the company. We worked closely with Edgio to provide training and documentation for the new platform. This enabled Edgio to maintain the long-term health of the CMS internally, ensuring that it remains a valuable asset for the company and its customers for years to come.
